#21 Lincoln Log Home

Approximate size 7"x9"x12"

This Historical Log Home is the birthplace of Abraham Lincoln located inside the Memorial Building in Hodgenville Kentucky.  Ed Steers Jr. commissioned the home, a writer of many books about Abraham Lincoln.

This log home is a very simple and fast way of getting shelter for a pioneer family.  It has one door and a window, located on the same side on the building.  The primitive fireplace system was constructed of timber and a mud mixture.  The chimney was replaced, with brick or stone, at a later date when there was more time and money.
